Whippets are gentle and loving dogs. They have a graceful and dignified manner, often displayed when lounging on the sofa. Their nature is kind, playful and a bit cheeky which makes them great around kids. They make rubbish guard dogs as they don't really bark.
Outdoors they chase things. If it moves they will chase it and that means they can turn their deaf ear on. They love and need company but not the sort of company that is chasable. Their love of the great outdoors makes them perfect for agility, racing and coursing which in turn makes them the perfect dog for outdoorsy people.
