I was sending him into the world and I had no idea whether he was prepared for what the grownups would throw at him. Had I given him the knowledge and skills to navigate toward a successful future? Was he ready, not only to survive, but live an epic life? Which battles should he fight? How do you know when they are better left unfought? When do you walk away and leave them to their own devices? The rules contained within aren't theoretical. I give real world stories, and examples from myself and others, on ways to be kickass in every rule. I share not only my triumphs, but I share some quite personal, embarrassing, stories of where I felt I failed. I felt it was necessary to let you know, I too, have struggled at this whole adult thing as well. I challenge you to take these first ten rules as your foundation to being the best human you can be. This book was originally conceived, and planned selfishly, to be shared with my kids. As I wrote it though, I soon realized that we can all benefit from learning what it takes, to not only human better, but be a kickass adult as well.
