Annabelle West, a fragile young woman, becomes Cyrus West's legal heir. Mysterious events take place, including murder, through the evening and night. Her sanity is put to the test as someone attempts to disown her of the inheritance. The Cat and the Canary was made into a movie several times and in different languages.
