by Coulsander Johnson (Author)
Born The seventh of nine children in Greenville, Mississippi. Coulsander Johnson was uprooted at five years old and transplanted in the streets of Watts, South Central Los Angeles, carrying wounds no child should have to carry. What followed was a life that refused to be simple. She buried two premature infants. She survived a car accident that putt her on life support for three weeks. She walked across the high school graduation stage five months pregnant, and delivered a health baby boy four months later. A year plus later, she birthed her beautiful daughter and later that night, on the same day, the love of her life was murdered.
Through grief, single motherhood, depression, and the long shallow of childhood trauma she was told never to name, Coulsander kept moving.
She earned her nursing certification and master's degree. She put herself through college. She raised two children who became her reason.
Facing Her: A Sacred Child's Journey To Freedom is the story of what it costs to stop running from yourself and what it gives back when you finally turn around.
